Generator harmonics and long cable runs created uncertainty about motor starting curves; suction conditions changed daily as the trench stepped.
Solution
We paired the pump selection with conservative valve sizing, suggested soft-start options where available, and staged deliveries so heavy wet sets did not block other trades’ laydown.
Results
- Fewer motor trips during morning starts
- Cleaner coordination between pump crew and pipe crew deliveries
- Honest documentation of assumptions sent to the site engineer nightly
